The U.S. H1-B Visa program
America’s leadership in the digital economy relies on highly skilled developers, and the H1-B program is a key tool to bring talented individuals to the United States. Alongside the visa program however, we must continue to invest in American workers and new graduates as a key resource in this highly competitive sector. Corrections to the H1-B program are needed to stop abuse and better target the talent America needs. A multi-pronged approach focusing on STEM education and retraining programs for American workers, alongside programs to entice highly skilled workers from outside the U.S. to enhance the domestic supply, is the best approach to ensure America’s ongoing economic success.
