House of Code: Apps Alliance + BuzzFeed Brunch for White House Correspondents’ Dinner

The Application Developers Alliance and BuzzFeed co-hosted a brunch in Washington, DC coinciding with the White House Correspondents’ Dinner. Guests arrived at the fabulous new French restaurant Kinship, where they enjoyed delicious food and drinks, and some of them remained behind for a “speakeasy” after-party in the Alliance’s office upstairs — accessible via the back fire escape.

The guests included staff from the Alliance and BuzzFeed along with a melange of influential and innovative people representing major corporations, tech startups, government, the media, and more. They included: Alex Wirth and Jonathan Marks (Quorum Analytics), Brian Gerrard (Bae), Dr. Catharine Young (British Embassy), Dr. Christina Sevilla (Office of the U.S. Trade Representative), Dan Horowitz (LinkedIn), Dr. Eric Schulze (Smithsonian Institution), Dr. Frances Colon (U.S. State Department), Jessica Altschul (Daimler), Matt Dybwad (TubeMogul), Megan Hughes (ABC News), Morgan Gress (1776), Patrick Hedren (GE), Rob Saliterman (Snapchat), Todd Moore (TMSoft), Vikrum Aiyer (U.S. Patent and Trademark Office), Dr. Whitney Austin Gray (Delos), and Zvi Band (Contactually).

As a tech-centered media company, BuzzFeed was a perfect complement to the Alliance in hosting this event. Their branding — which included “LOL,” “OMG,” and “WIN” stickers and cupcakes from Georgetown Cupcake — intermingled with the Alliance’s at both the upstairs and downstairs portions of the event.

The brunch was exclusively covered by Washington Life magazine. You can see some of their photos here.
