On 17 May, around 130 developers and entrepreneurs from the London FinTech community gathered for the Apps Alliance Meetup: The Role of Mobile in the FinTech Revolution. The meetup, which was hosted at WeWork Spitalfields, was organized in cooperation with Visa Europe Collab and welcomed app developers, mobile tech startups and entrepreneurs to discuss if and how FinTech mobile apps are disrupting traditional banking and focus on the future of financial services as a whole.
The Application Developers Alliance and BuzzFeed co-hosted a brunch in Washington, DC coinciding with the White House Correspondents’ Dinner. Guests arrived at the fabulous new French restaurant Kinship, where they enjoyed delicious food and drinks, and some of them remained behind for a “speakeasy” after-party in the Alliance’s office upstairs — accessible via the back fire escape.
The App Strategy Workshop in Paris took place on 28 April. Returning to the beautiful Microsoft Conference Center, the event was jam-packed with around 230 attendees. On 24 March, the App Alliance kicked off the 2016 Paris Meetup Series with a focus on Mobile FinTech Apps. tvOS is the future of television, and our member AppLovin is invested in building it. Helping to usher in the era of smart TV, AppLovin will host the Apple TV App Challenge. This event includes a hackathon on April 16-17 in San Francisco and a contest with two categories: original apps and ports.
