Washington, D.C. (July 10, 2013) – The Application Developers Alliance today praised
the introduction of yet another bill to address abusive litigation by patent
trolls. Representatives Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) and Blake Farenthold (R-TX) introduced
the legislation, entitled the Patent Litigation and Innovation Act.
“By introducing the Patent Litigation and Innovation Act of 2013, Representatives Blake
Farenthold and Hakeem Jeffries, both members of the House Judiciary Committee,
have added their voices to many others in Congress seeking to end expensive,
senseless litigation that harms innovation and investment,” said Jon Potter, President of
the Application Developers Alliance. “App developers and all entrepreneurs welcome
this thoughtful addition to the discussion, and urge Chairman Goodlatte to hold more
patent litigation reform hearings before Congress breaks in August.”
