Retreat for App Industry Leaders on Financing and Distribution to be held November 2, 2012

Palo Alto, California (October 16, 2012) – The second annual Appbackr Napa App Retreat will be held November 2. Appbackr holds the retreat to bring together thought leaders in the app economy for one day of in-depth conversation about the future of apps. 

The event is sponsored by Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman and Research In Motion, with media support from the Application Developers Alliance. Participants include Google, Intel, Barnes & Noble, Zynga, Gamestop, Blackberry, Mozilla, Sprint, Flurry, Quixey, Microsoft, and others.

One developer will be selected to attend for free based on his or her answer to the question: What is the biggest challenge for improving distribution for developers?

Developers can enter by emailing an answer to speakingopp@appalliance.org. All submissions will be reviewed by Appbackr and the Application Developers Alliance. The developer with the most compelling and unique response will be chosen to receive a complimentary registration to the retreat, transportation from Palo Alto or San Francisco to the retreat, and the opportunity to present his or her answer in a video interview at the retreat.

1:10 – 1:30 pm            Analysis of the App Market – Vishal Gurbuxani, Velti

1:30 – 2:15 pm            Disrupting Distribution Panel Discussion – Moderated by Trevor Cornwell, appbackr

2:30 – 3:15 pm            How the Money is Moving Panel Discussion – Moderated by Alastair Goldfisher, Thompson Reuters

The program concludes with a tour of Hall Winery in St. Helena, complete with tastings and hors d’oevres.
