OutFit7, Sprint, and Yahoo! Join the Apps Alliance

Washington, DC (Jan. 22, 2013) – OutFit7, Sprint, and Yahoo! have joined the Application Developers Alliance. The new members represent the range of the app ecosystem and collectively employ hundreds of developers. The leading entertainment company, service provider and media platform bring the expertise of creating global entertainment brands, along with the resources and proficiency of the Sprint Developer Program and Yahoo! Developer Network.

“Joining the Alliance is a great opportunity for Sprint to support developers and also to tap into what this community needs most from carriers,” said Kevin McGinnis, vice president, Pinsight Media+, a division of Sprint. ”We want to meet the pace of the developer community to provide them with the right tools to create innovative apps and services for Sprint customers.”

“The Alliance is an exceptional group of forward-thinking entrepreneurs and tech companies,” said Alessandro Traverso, COO, Outfit7. “As the app industry continues to expand, it’s increasingly important to connect with other companies in support of that growth.”

“Yahoo! has a vibrant Developer Network, and we’re excited to bring our resources to the Alliance. We look forward to having a seat at the table and becoming part of the voice of our industry,” said Anil Patel, Head of Yahoo! Developer Outreach and Community.

As Alliance members, the companies will have access to a network of more than 30,000 individual developers, more than 150 companies, and Alliance events nationwide. Members influence and guide Alliance advocacy efforts on behalf of the developer community and have the opportunity to participate in Alliance working groups. Yahoo! will participate in the soon-to-be-launched Media and Entertainment working group, and the Business and Revenue working group.
