The Mobile App Ecosystem Remains Stable and Competitive

In the year since the publication of the Developers Alliance’s 2016 report on competition in the mobile app ecosystem, the debate among stakeholders and regulators has intensified. To refresh our measure of the app industry, the Developers Alliance synthesized our previous research and conducted new interviews with developers and publishers for their views on competition.
The Mobile App Ecosystem Remains Stable and Competitive pulls from previous Alliance research among 670 developers worldwide, 4,000 Android users in Europe, and newly conducted one-on-one interviews with those on the front lines of where this debate is being felt. In year since our last report, the industry has become even more mature and stable; as a result, the opportunity for developer only continues to grow.
