Developers Alliance Comments on Closing Remarks in Google Search Remedies Trial

WASHINGTON (May 28, 2025) — Developers Alliance Board Chair Jake Ward offers the following statement before closing arguments begin tomorrow in the Google Search remedies trial.

“In just the past few weeks we’ve seen yet another wave of disruptive innovation among American technology companies: dramatic and remarkable advances in AI, seismic shifts in investment, and changing political and economic landscapes. The last thing developers need now is more instability.

“The Google search trial was political theater. It was never about promoting innovation or a more competitive marketplace. How do we know? Because as closing remarks are about to begin in the remedies trial, the future of search has already started, and the DOJ’s arguments are already outdated.

“A crusade against Google won’t help developers, and claiming that it will is a disservice to the entire innovation economy.”
