Friday 27 March, Berlin – More than a dozen of Europe’s best connected device start-up companies will compete in Berlin this weekend at IoT{Accelerate}. The two day program is hosted by the Application Developers Alliance, Google and Ericsson, and features experts from Intel, Ford, Vision Mobile and other industry leaders in Internet of Things technologies and products.
Earlier this month, nearly 100,000 mobile tech enthusiasts and leaders gathered in Barcelona, Spain for the world’s largest conference on all-things mobile: Mobile World Congress (MWC). With apps taking the center stage at MWC’s App Planet, it was only fitting for the Apps Alliance to take the conference by storm and continue to drive our global presence.
This month, while most of the Apps Alliance team descended on Barcelona for Mobile World Congress, a few of us attended the 2015 Game Developers Conference in San Francisco. Against a backdrop of booths, demos, and excited attendees, we chatted with developers about their inspirations, challenges, and strategies. In addition to filming content, GDC was also a great way for our events team to connect with both current and prospective members during the gaming industry’s largest trade show.
For the second straight year, the Application Developers Alliance kicked off the App Strategy Workshop series at one of our favorite venues, Impact Hub Seattle. A packed house of 120 mobile professionals filled the room to learn how to build apps with target audiences in mind and gain insights into the role of feedback in post-launch app improvement.
The App Developers Alliance was thrilled to attend Silicon Alley Day in New York City at the offices of our members, MasterCard. At this event, experts from across the payments and transactions industry convened to discuss the current state of digital payments.
The 2014 mHealth Summit convened experts across several industries in Washington, DC from December 7th to 11th. The largest event of its kind, the 2014 mHealth Summit explored the intersection of innovation and evidence. The Apps Alliance team hosted a booth on the exhibit floor to chat with developers and medical professionals alike.
The App Developers Alliance team has been traveling all over the country for our App Strategy Workshop series, so it was only appropriate for us to have one of our final workshops of the year in our hometown of Washington, DC!
As the final stop of our cross country 15 city roadtrip, we were ready to climb the Rocky steps and finish up the year with our first ever Philadelphia App Strategy Workshop.
Last Thursday, the Alliance hosted an App Strategy Workshop in Ljubljana, Slovenia. We had over 120 in attendance and heard from Smaato, Outfit7 and D-Labs on how developers can make money with their apps.
Automotive development is more opportunistic than ever before, and the Apps Alliance is at the forefront of the topic bringing the latest and greatest insights to developers. We visited the Connected Car Expo in Los Angeles, California on November 19, to uncover the hottest trends in auto innovation, explore consumer expectations, and discuss resources and tools for developers to succeed in this space.
The Apps Alliance enjoyed attending the Family Online Safety Institute Conference (FOSI) in Washington, DC this week! The FOSI conference, titled “Redefining Online Safety,” interpreted online safety for today’s families, highlighted strategies to keep families safe, and explained techniques for determining risk while also still enjoying the benefits of the internet.
On the 12-13th of November, Apps World, one of Europe’s key tech events returned to London for its fifth year: Apps World. The Apps Alliance team were out in force alongside a host of member companies to meet the thousands of developers in attendance.
