On June 25, 2015, the Application Developers Alliance welcomed more than 50 attendees to the first edition of our new London meetup to discuss different methods app entrepreneurs can implement to get their first 10,000 users.
The proliferation of wearable technology has begun, and things are about to get interesting. This was definitely the vibe Apps Alliance felt at Wearable World Congress 2015 this year in San Francisco. Running the gamut from eHealth and med-tech, to drums you can play with your pants, there was a wide variety of wearable devices on display. The sense of possibility and creativity in the room was palpable.
We were happy to once again attend AppsWorld North America this year. As a conference focused on highlighting the trends, challenges, and opportunities in today’s mobile app ecosystem, it was a great opportunity to gain insights and advice for our developer community. At this gathering of over 10,000 app industry professionals, we shot 24 videos focusing on enterprise development, IoT, app monetization solutions and trends, and strategies for leveraging analytics. When it comes to impressive event venues, The Microsoft Conference Centre in Paris certainly pulls its weight. On May 21, 2015, the Application Developers Alliance joined 150 leading European developers and app entrepreneurs to discuss key practices in making an app successful.
The App Developers Alliance checked another first off our list with the inaugural mHealth Apps Workshop in Raleigh, NC on May 14. Over 60 attendees and 10 speakers came in from around the country to discuss how mobile technology is enhancing the patient care experience in the healthcare industry.
For the second consecutive week, the Apps Alliance concentrated its presence in San Francisco with the goal of engaging members and area app industry professionals. Encouraged by the momentum from the previous week’s successful Happy Hour with AppsFlyer and App Strategy Workshop, we attended AppsWorld North America at Moscone Center West.
What a week! After rubbing elbows with the best in the mobile marketing scene at our Happy Hour with AppsFlyer, we convened more than 20 leading industry experts to share their journeys and app strategy knowledge. Over 150 developers, publishers, and app enthusiasts eagerly listened as stories and tips for success were neatly woven into a narrative of positivity and support for the app community. Armed with their newly acquired tools for success, attendees enjoyed conversation and an open bar on the W Hotel’s beautiful terrace.
In anticipation of our San Francisco App Strategy Workshop, the Apps Alliance teamed up with member AppsFlyer to co-host a mobile marketing-focused happy hour at the festive Natoma Cabana.
Overlooking the city of Hamburg, we hosted 100 developers in Smaato’s headquarters last Thursday at the App Alliance’s first Hamburg App Strategy Workshop. Nine leading app experts sat down to share their insights for acquiring and monetising users, equipping attendees with top tips to overcome the challenge of making money from apps.
The Internet of Things is sizzling hot — top of mind for developers, innovators, and notably for traditional industries. Sensors and machines that communicate and learn at astonishing rates will drive innovation and dramatically change our world. Promoting that innovation was the objective of the IoT{Accelerate}, an 48-hour Apps Alliance event we recently hosted in Berlin.

Executive Director Jake Ward welcomed a packed house of 120 app developers, who gathered to hear industry leaders discuss their app business success strategies.
The Apps Alliance team took to Silicon Beach last week for our Los Angeles App Strategy Workshop. Hosted at the Loews Hotel in Santa Monica, our workshop gathered more than 200 app developers and startup founders in the Los Angeles area to talk about building app businesses.
