Application Developers Alliance Holds San Francisco Privacy Summit

San Francisco, CA (April 8, 2013) – The Application Developers Alliance holds the first in its series of Developer Patent Summits on Tuesday, April 9, in San Francisco. The event, which will be held at RocketSpace, is the first in a fifteen-city tour that will convene app developers, entrepreneurs, patent experts, and policymakers to discuss software patent challenges, trolls, and ideas for reform. Apps Alliance Members Spinnakr and CMP.LY Brief Consumer Advocates in “App 101” Session

Washington, D.C. (September 19, 2012) – Today, two Application Developers Alliance members briefed consumer privacy advocates about how mobile apps work. Michael Mayernick, co-founder of Spinnakr, and Tom Chernaik, CEO of CMP.LY, participated in the “Apps 101” session, held as part of the ongoing multi-stakeholder meetings on mobile app privacy at the U.S. Department of Commerce’s National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA). The session focused on the specifics of mobile app development, including business models, app monetization, and innovative ways apps are protecting consumer privacy.

Apps Alliance Applauds Blumenthal, Klobuchar and Heinrich on Introduction of Password Protection Act

Washington, D.C. (May 9, 2012) – Today the Application Developers Alliance, the leading association for the entrepreneurs building America’s fastest growing industry, congratulated Sen. Richard Blumenthal, Sen. Amy Klobuchar and Rep. Martin Heinrich for introducing the Password Protection Act in the Senate and House. The measure takes head on the problem of employers demanding employees’ or applicants’ passwords as a condition of employment.
