Today, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) released a report making privacy and security recommendations to industry regarding the Internet of Things (IoT) report today. The report highlights numerous examples of positive uses of IoT, but also identifies several risks.

WASHINGTON, DC – The App Developers Alliance strongly supports the United States Patent and Trademark Office decision to create a patent quality leadership position, and the selection of Valencia Martin to be the first Deputy Commissioner for Patent Quality.
On December 15, the United States Patent and Trademark Office (PTO) issued guidance for its patent examiners based on recent U.S. Supreme Court decisions concerning the criteria for when software can be patented. The current Interim guidelines are open for public commentuntil March 16, 2015.
