The App Developers Alliance checked another first off our list with the inaugural mHealth Apps Workshop in Raleigh, NC on May 14. Over 60 attendees and 10 speakers came in from around the country to discuss how mobile technology is enhancing the patient care experience in the healthcare industry.
What a week! After rubbing elbows with the best in the mobile marketing scene at our Happy Hour with AppsFlyer, we convened more than 20 leading industry experts to share their journeys and app strategy knowledge. Over 150 developers, publishers, and app enthusiasts eagerly listened as stories and tips for success were neatly woven into a narrative of positivity and support for the app community. Armed with their newly acquired tools for success, attendees enjoyed conversation and an open bar on the W Hotel’s beautiful terrace.
The EU can take responsibility for changing the overall business environment for digital start-ups and infuse a more entrepreneurial mind-set throughout Europe, writes Kaya Taner, co-founder and board member of AppLift, a mobile app marketing platform based in Berlin. “I saw the need for helping people,” said Ryan Nicholson, creator of app Barn Door Four. “In college,” he continued, “I worked for a company that helped kids and adults with special needs. I taught them basic but necessary skills for independent living: how to cook, clean, pay bills, ride the bus, etc. I knew I wanted to keep working in this area.” What he didn’t know at the time was this passion would lead him into the world of apps.
As the European Union prepares its plan for a Digital Single Market, policy-makers must take full account of the fastest growing segment of that market, the app industry.
LONDON— Today, the Application Developers Alliance announced the launch of IoT{Accelerate}Berlin, an Internet of Things competition for developers and pre-launch startups. Organised in partnership with Ericsson and Google, the project aims to spur innovation in this rapidly growing market.
At the end of August, the Apps Alliance team met in San Francisco for our App Strategy Workshop. Panelists discussed how app developers can break into the market, monetize their apps without damaging the user’s experience, and monetize their apps in international markets. With more than 250 attendees, it’s safe to say the workshop was a hit!
On July 31st in London the Apps Alliance hosted its first event in Europe, The Cloud Conundrum Developer Workshop. The room was filled with developers exchanging ideas on the function of the cloud in the app ecosystem.
