WASHINGTON, DC – The Application Developers Alliance is encouraged by the President’s focus on important innovation issues in tonight’s State of the Union. Data policy and privacy are critical issues to app developers, app publishers and the entire app ecosystem. Getting data policies right will – as President Obama said – “protect the technologies that have unleashed untold opportunities for people around the globe.”
“Data is the lifeblood of app innovation and the foundation of transformative advancements. We welcome the opportunity to work with the Administration and Congress to ensure that harms resulting from data breaches and misuse are addressed aggressively, and to also ensure that data practices which promote innovation and benefit consumers can continue,” said Jon Potter, President, Application Developers Alliance.
