WASHINGTON, DC – The Application Developers Alliance today applauded President Obama’s call for ensuring student privacy.
Statement from Jon Potter, President, Application Developers Alliance:
“The Apps Alliance agrees with President Obama – students and their parents deserve clarity and certainty with regard to students’ digital information. Apps should disclose what data is being collected and if the data is being shared; and students and parents should be thoughtful and prudent with their digital information.
“The Alliance believes that in the optimal data-driven environment, students and all consumers are comfortable sharing data because they know how their data is being used and the associated benefits are clear. We know that educational apps benefits students and educators, but we appreciate the need for more confidence and greater certainty. We look forward to working with the President and Congress to promote innovative apps that both improve education and protect student information.”
