Washington, D.C. (May 22, 2013) – Today the Application Developers Alliance applauded Vermont Attorney General William Sorrell’s consumer protection complaint against a patent troll.
“Patent trolls are exacting immediate and substantial harm on businesses, and now non-profits, in Vermont, and we applaud Attorney General William Sorrell’s decision to take action,” said Jon Potter, President of the Application Developers Alliance. “This is a nationwide problem, and we hope this first-of-its-kind lawsuit will serve as a model and help weaken incentives for patent trolls across the country.”
The Application Developers Alliance is holding Developer Patent Summits nationwide, including a summit tonight in New York, convening app developers, entrepreneurs, patent experts, and policymakers to discuss software patent challenges, trolls, and ideas for reform.
