Application Developers Alliance Partners with Fortify.vc

Washington, D.C. (October 17, 2012) Today, the Application Developers Alliance announced a partnership with venture fund Fortify.vc and its startup accelerator TheFort.vc. Under the agreement, companies in the Fortify.vc portfolio will receive full benefits of corporate membership in the Application Developers Alliance, including collaboration with the Alliance’s network of more than 15,000 application developers, event sponsorship opportunities, access to industry research, working group participation, and policy advocacy.

Fortify.vc is an early stage investment fund, and its startup accelerator, The Fort, is currently home to 12 companies, enabling Fortify.vc funded startups to work side-by-side with mentors and VC’s.

“For many of our portfolio companies, mobile apps are a critical part of their business model. The App Developers Alliance brings a powerful set of resources to its members and creates real value through advocacy, policy, and community building,” said Simon Rakoff, General Partner of Fortify.vc.

“The Fort provides an outstanding opportunity for startups in the D.C. region, allowing founders to collaborate with mentors and funders for a better shot at success. We applaud The Fort for its entrepreneurial spirit, and we’re happy to welcome its participating companies to the Alliance today,” said Alliance President, Jon Potter.

The Application Developers Alliance also teamed up with Fortify.vc in sponsoring Distilled Intelligence 2.0. During the two-day conference, tech startups from across the globe competed for $100,000 from Fortify.vc.
