Representing developers in the implementation of the EU mHealth strategy:

As a follow up to the mHealth Green Paper consultation, the European Commission set up several industry-led Working Groups, focussing on privacy and security, and quality and reliability of mobile health apps. Specifically, the WGs aim at drafting Codes of Conduct regulating different aspects of the well-being and lifestyle apps ecosystem. These initiatives were presented during the mHealth stakeholder meeting at the Riga mHealth Week 2015.

The App Alliance is actively participating in the process, by being a member of the Drafting Working Group for Privacy and Security of Apps, including representatives of the pharmaceutical and digital industry (namely Samsung, GSMA, Digital Europe, Intel, Microsoft, Apple, EFPIA).

Our goal is to represent the needs of app developers effectively, stressing the need of creating an understandable Code of Conduct, which is easy to comply with and that enhances the protection of users and the chances of innovating.
