Today we welcomed eight new members. Capitol Bells, FindTheBest, JNBridge, KPass, Lyft, Nutritionix, SocialRadar, and Syniverse Technologies joined the Alliance to participate in advocacy efforts on issues including patent reform, privacy, and ridesharing regulations.
“Joining the App Developers Alliance is a great opportunity for FindTheBest to take a stance against patent trolls that attack startups and small businesses,” said Danny Seigle, Director of Operations at FindTheBest. “As a leading voice on patent reform issues, the Alliance has brought us to Washington to testify on the impact of patent troll abuse on behalf of innovators across the globe.”
The Alliance is an advocate for its members and the global developer ecosystem. On public policy issues, including software patents, consumer privacy, and data security, the Alliance supports an open and competitive ecosystem that fosters innovation and supports disruptive technologies.
“We’re thrilled to join an advocacy group dedicated to fighting for innovation and supporting technologies that can improve the lives of consumers,” said David Estrada, VP of Government Relations at Lyft. “This partnership will be invaluable as peer-to-peer transportation continues to face challenges from city and state leaders across the country who are more concerned with protecting entrenched interests than furthering public safety through technology.”
“As our members continue to push boundaries and explore new territory, the Alliance serves as the voice of the app industry, advocating for innovation in Washington,” said Alliance President Jon Potter. “We’re dedicated to protecting innovation on behalf of our members and the entire app ecosystem.”
