Apps Alliance Participates in Facial Recognition Privacy Discussions

Today, the Alliance will participate in the first multistakeholder discussion on facial recognition technologies on behalf of developers. We hope the meeting will help industry and consumer privacy advocates find common ground on the use of the innovative technology.

Today’s discussion is the first of eight meetings facilitated by the National Telecommunications and Information Administration to develop a voluntary code of conduct for facial recognition technology privacy. The meetings will follow the same format as last year’s successful Mobile App Privacy discussion.
